Destination Spa Manager

Scope and Purpose of Position

The Spa Manager supports the Company in working to achieve the strategic direction and goals of its operations. The role applies the to both skills and professional behaviour that enable the Spa operations to provide guests with outstanding spa services, treatments, products and facilities that are of exceptional quality, safety, hygiene and responsiveness to individual needs. The role of the Spa Manager is to ensure that the desired standards and protocols are implemented correctly and consistently. The Spa Manager reports to the Director.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

First and foremost is for you to set out a monthly plan as to how you will reach your targets. This will be sent to Head Office with the following reports:

  • Spa Month End Report
  • Commissions report
  • Sales Report
  • Any incident reports
  • Staff Appraisal reports
  • Staff off day tracking
  • Stock take, which will be done every 15 days and sent to Head office month end
  • Annual summary of services
  • Time & Attendance
  • Revenue Stats
  • Occupancy Report
  • Maintenance Report

  • As the Spa Manager, it is your duty to ensure that the operation of each spa runs according to company guideline, and you will be expected to take full responsibility of the spa, stock, and the
  • If the targets set by both parties are not met or far below expected numbers, the company has right to retract or cancel the contract completely with no notice given and further explanation.

  • Please ensure that your team is trained and well equipped with the Healing Earth manuals and It is your responsibility to create training rosters to ensure your staff are always practising what they preach.
  • Ensure all dealings with guests at the spa and health club area to meet or exceed the hotels operating standards.
  • Ensure all areas of the Spa are kept clean and well always
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation governing the operation of a Spa
  • Ensure the guest experience is relaxing and in accordance with the hotel's
  • Ensure the health and safety of guests and employees are always
  • Ensure consistent Spa experience development to ensure that innovation and uniqueness is
  • Ensure proper inventories of all operating Spa equipment are conducted in line with audit standards to effectively manage operational cost.
  • Ensure that the Spa team adhere to all hotels and company operational and service
  • Ensure that spa department follows business conduct and
  • Ensure that spa department follows hotels policies and procedures including health, hygiene, emergency, and Fire
  • Ensure that the spa department follows safety and always maintain confidentiality for all guests and Documentation should be filed in a correct manner and looked after.

 

  • Ensure all spa, health club and wellness equipment are always maintained in good working
  • Ensure that all stock and cash items are kept safely under lock and
  • Able to provide guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work

  • Able to liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of the spa

  • Able to implement and monitor up-selling strategies to maximise spa and health club operational
  • Able to analyse and interpret the needs of clients and offer appropriate options, solutions, and You can get an in-house information sheet from front office to help you manage the market and plan your spa specials accordingly.
  • Be the single point of contact for Dignitaries, VIP and VVIP guests and co-ordinate their Spa
  • Responsible for checking and overseeing all guest settlements like cash, CC, room settlements
  • Responsible to identify and target specific market segments for potential corporate clientele to promote Spa
  • Responsible to develop strong product quality and treatment measures. Ensure that all staff can do all the
  • Responsible to monitor and analyse the products and services of competitive Spas, to maintain a competitive advantage.

  • Responsible for the department training plan and conduct hands-on training for the new
  • Responsible for reviewing all guest feedback results and implement improvements to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible for spa employee’s weekly duty schedules and staff duty charts.
  • Coordinate with the engineering department to ensure proper repair and preventive maintenance works of all spa equipment.
  • Regularly monitor all equipment for the proper functioning in the Spa and health club area to ensure maximum guest
  • Prepare annual budget and business Plan to ensure Spa operation is adequately
  • Recruit and train Spa employees in accordance with hotels or resort sop and
  • Monitor and review Spa employee’s performance regularly and provide required
  • Manage spa inventory effectively and follow hotels purchasing standards to ensure audit
  • Hold regular staff meetings to keep staff up to date on all aspects of the Spa’s These minutes should be minuted and staff need to sign their attendance and understanding after the meeting.
  • Gather information and remain fully informed of local and international trends in Spa
  • Attend daily morning HOD meeting and advise Head Office of any important information that is discussed regarding the Spa. Please advise management if you will not be attending the meeting for any
  • Perform a regular inventory of Spa levels for retail and operational
  • Raise store requisitions of all retail and operational items as and when
  • Perform any other duties that management may reasonably require.
  • Monthly Reporting to Healing Earth Head
  • Any orders of stock needed, needs to be done with a Purchase Order and sent to Lynette at Head Office for stock control
  • Training of clients and staff that may arise – this will be handled by you as the Spa

 

  • Demonstrating how to perform various exercises, stretches, and
  • Monitoring the progress of clients, and/or adapting programs, as
  • Providing employees with information and/or resources about lifestyle changes, nutrition, and wellness
  • Evaluating clients to locate painful, and/or tense
  • Manipulating muscles and/or soft tissues of the body.
  • Teaching clients how to stretch, strengthen their muscles, achieve overall relaxation, and improve their

 

Administrative Duties

  • Adherence to all Spa Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintain accurate guest records as required by Head Office
  • Maintain inventory of supplies for the operation of the treatment
  • Attend departmental communication briefings and
  • Report any stock purchase requests to Warehouse and Head Office

Financial Focus

  • Know and understand Spa KPI targets laid out by Spa Management
  • Maintain facility in peak condition at all times while adhering to all aspects of the operations budget

  • Support cost saving initiatives to reduce costs and expenses
  • Ensure all revenue reports are submitted and reconciled with the Hotel Management and Head

Candidate Qualifications

Academic Qualifications and Background

  • Diploma in International Beauty Therapy – ITEC / CIDESCO / SAAHSP
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty / Body Therapy
  • Massage Therapist – Accredited Massage Diploma
  • Basic Hairdressing Qualification a bonus

 

Work Experience

  • Five years of experience in a luxury 5-star in a Spa Manager role
  • Demonstrated previous experience in a luxury 5-Star hospitality environment

 

Language

  • Ability to effectively communicate with others in English

 

Required Skills

  • Competent and effectively demonstrate highly developed therapy, treatment, and product application skills
  • Ability to improve personal service effectiveness and efficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications at intermediate level
